Previous Expenditures and Current Budget

Note on Use of Funds:

TFABB is a small organization that has so far been able to use all funds for programmatic activities in Belize. Thus, the proposed project budget is also the entire annual budget for the organization. All other organization expenses incurred during the year—including copying and postage for fundraising, etc.—are donated by the board members.

TFABB's mission includes providing necessary teaching supplies and educational books to support the local schools. Since inception, we have purchased and donated over $90,000 worth of requested teaching supplies, materials, and books to the schools of Toledo. Additionally, we have shipped many hundreds of boxes of donate supplies and books gathered in school book drives (thousands and thousands of books gathered from teachers and students in places such as St. Louis, Buffalo, Houston, and Shelbyville, TN).

Annual Expenditures:

• 1997: $3,500 of which $750 was spent on school supplies
• 1998: $9,000 of which $3,800 was spent on school supplies
• 1999: $19,500 of which $7,900 was spent on school supplies
• 2000: $24,250 of which $11,000 was spent on school supplies
• 2001: $29,500 of which $13,785 was spent on school supplies (including extra supplies to schools affected by Hurricane Iris)
• 2002: $21,250 of which $9,150 was spent on school supplies
• 2003: $20,970 of which $6,700 was spent on school supplies
• 2004: $21,850 of which $8,380 was spent on school supplies
• 2005: $20,093 of which $9,598 was spent on the Library Construction Project
• 2006: $31,845 of which $9,234 was spent on books and school supplies
• 2007: $42,634 of which $13,900 was spent on books and school supplies

Current Year Proposed Budget:

2008: $42,733 (proposed budget) of which $12,000 will be spent on children's storybooks, teacher resources, and other school supplies
